This advertisement encouraged Philadelphians to enroll in the Berean Manual Training & Industrial School on South College Avenue and North 19th Street. The advertisement includes the location of the school, the date for the meeting, the programs offered at the school, and the demographics which the school offers classes for. The Berean School was an integral part of the African American community in Philadelphia, and played a key role in educating numerous black Philadelphians. I. Maximilian Martin served as a teacher at the Berean School for six years before World War Two, but struggled to advance up the administrative latter because of discrimination.
