Description
A flyer for a fundraising-style event aimed towards benefiting the Weaver Orphan Home in Hampton, VA. The event is being held at the Union Baptist Church on May 27th, 1926 at 8 pm, and is being sponsored by the Welfare Association. The church itself is located on Fitzwater Street above 19th Street. Reverend J. E. Kirkland, the pastor for Union Baptist Church, along with Reverend W. B. Weaver, founder of the home, and Reverend J. E. East, are all making appearances at the event. Music for the event is being provided by the C.A. Tindley Gospel Singers. Mrs. Mary E. Page, the president of the Welfare Association, and Mrs. Maude Weaver Winston, a field agent for the orphanage, are also involved with the event. The flyer for the event was printed by E. James at 1817 Catherine Street.
