Description

The Christian Street Y.M.C.A. was a popular organization amongst African Americans, and was an integrated organization. The main offices of the Y.M.C.A. thought I. Max Martin should not attend a conference at the Hershey Hotel in Hershey, PA because of his race. Martin remained separated from the organization for years because of their stance on his attendance of this conference.
